General Betray Us?
Tigerhawk recalls the MoveOn.org discounted NYT ad from 2007 questioning General Petraeus' testimony before Congress. The Senate approved a resolution denouncing the ad. Hillary Clinton voted against the resolution and then Senator Obama did not cast a vote, issuing a statement instead:
I don't want to hassle Obama now as his picking Petraeus seems like a good move but I'd like to hear both Clinton's and Obma's thoughts on the issue of Petaeus, MoveOn.org and the Iraq and Afghanastan campaign from 2007 to the present.
Mr. Obama issued a statement calling the resolution, put forward by Senator John Cornyn, Republican of Texas, “a stunt.” Mr. Obama said, “By not casting a vote, I registered my protest against these empty politics.”
